Meet the Team
Virginia C. Robinson
Head of School
Virginia C. Robinson is from Arlington, Virginia, just outside of Washington, D.C. A Third Culture Kid herself, Virginia was born in London, England to American parents and spent her childhood moving around the world (Japan, D.C., Paris, Bahrain, Nebraska), attending various international schools, and has continued to travel extensively as an adult. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Theater from Sweet Briar College in central Virginia and her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Marymount University in Arlington, and additional post-graduate work certificates in ESL through the University of Virginia.
She taught in Arlington Public Schools in Virginia before moving to Mexico, as well as at Tulum International School, where she was also the Academic Director. Since mid-2020, she has run a private teaching & tutoring company, working with both local Tulum students as well as international students online. She has also worked professionally in theater and in studio arts, both as an artist and an art teacher.
Besides teaching, Virginia enjoys spending her time dancing (bachata & salsa), practicing yoga, reading novels at the beach, learning new languages (currently Italian & Arabic!) and exploring new places. She speaks English, Spanish, & French fluently and has three cats named Ix Chel, Bee, and Cuixe.
